The PSHDH30000M is the long-drum manual-clutch version of the 30,000 lb PSHDH — same motor, gear ratio, and pulling capacity as the air-spool sibling, but with a manual output-shaft clutch that doesn’t require an onboard air system. The right answer for service trucks and wreckers without air.
Why pick the manual clutch on a 30K winch?
Two reasons. Your truck doesn’t have a usable air supply for the air-spool clutch — common on smaller service trucks and off-road rigs. Or you just prefer fewer systems to maintain, and you’re OK stepping out to engage the clutch lever by hand for free-spool. Pulling capacity, line speed, and rope spec are identical to the air-clutch version.
- 30,000 lb rated pulling capacity
- Hydraulic, 9.5 in³ in/rev motor
- 2,540 PSI operational pressure, 15.9 GPM max oil flow
- 2-stage planetary gear, 41:1 ratio
- 16 fpm max line speed
- Output-shaft disengaged clutch — manual lever, no air system needed
- Long drum for extended cable reach
- Multidisc brake
- Cast housings with steel drum
- Recommended wire rope: ⅝ in × 246 ft (1,960 N/mm² grade, 179 kN minimum breaking strength)
- Mounting bolt pattern: 7.5 in × 18 in or 10.5 in × 18 in
- Pierce SKU PSHDH30000M — built to order
For the air-clutch version (cab-controlled free-spool), see the 30,000 lb Hydraulic Recovery Winch (Long Drum, Air). For the narrow-drum manual version, see Narrow Drum, Manual. Stepping down to 20,000 lb: 20,000 lb Hydraulic Recovery Winch (Long Drum, Manual).
⚠️ Never use a winch for lifting or moving people. Pulling and recovery use only.
