The PSM912SP is a replacement 12V motor for newer PIERCE PS6000, PS9000, and PS12000 planetary recovery winches — Style 2 with a splined shaft. Three-post electrical, 5.5 HP, drop-in fit. Will not work on a PS654 series industrial worm gear winch.
How is this different from the PSM6-3?
Two differences. The PSM912SP has a splined shaft (multiple ridges around the circumference); the PSM6-3 has a slotted shaft (a flat groove). And the PSM912SP fits PS6000 + PS9000 + PS12000 — the PSM6-3 fits PS6000 only. If your winch is newer and has a splined-shaft motor, the PSM912SP is the replacement.
